Science Fair brought another year of excellent exhibits!
Canada Wide Science Fair Winners were:
- Lindsay Dimler ~ Silver – Automotive Sciences
- Bronze – Ashley Anderson/Forrest Tower ~ Health Sciences
- 1st Place: Ashley Anderson/ Forrest Tower
- 2nd Place: Lindsay Dimler
- 3rd Place: Sarah Alspaugh and Madelynn Eliason/Julia Giesbrecht.
- The finalists were: Brooke Tower/Caroline Kohlen, Laura Spyker, Alisha Mann/Christina Provan, David Harned/Randy Giesbrecht, Kyla Crego, William Legault, Lindsay Doherty, Nathan Provan, Andrew Ardell/Jonathan Ardell, and Justis Fisher.
These teams participated in the Central Interior Science Exhibition at UNBC in March. Our students had a super finish at UNBC! These were their standings:
- Ashley Anderson/Forrest Tower won Gold along with: CNC Social Sciences Award, UNBC Mathematics Award, Spruce Kings Excellence in Science Award, Best in Category-Life Sciences Level 1 and Best in Exhibition-All Categories. They won the opportunity to attend the Canada Wide Science Fair in Peterborough, ON in May.
- Lindsay Dimler won Gold along with: BC Innovation Council Award, Chevron Canada Award, Society for Canadian Women in Technology Award, and Best in Category-Automotive Sciences Level 1. She also won the opportunity to attend the Canada Wide Science Fair in Peterborough, ON in May.
- Sarah Alspaugh won Gold along with Young Innovator Award, Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of BC Award, Best in Category-Engineering Level 1. She joined our other 3 students in attending the CWSF in Peterborough in May.
- Laura Spyker won Silver along with the Canadian Diabetes Association Award
- Lindsay Doherty won Gold along with the Science Alliance Camp Award
- Madelynn Eliason/Julia Giesbrecht won Gold and the BC Ministry of Environment Environmental Award
- Alisha Mann won Gold and the Judges' Choice Award
- Caroline Kohlen/Brooke Tower won Gold and Best in Category Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Sciences Level 2
- Andrew Ardell/Jonathan Ardell won Gold and the Best in Category Earth & Environmental Sciences Level 1
- David Harned/Randy Giesbrecht won Silver for their project.
